Jack of Spades – Action: Journalling

Journaling is a fun way to handle your feelings, boost your creativity, and think about your day.

What did you get up to today?
Are you looking forward to anything this week?
Did you learn from any of your adventures?

Keep a notebook by your bed.

Each night, try to write down three positive things from your day and one thing you’re looking forward to when you wake up tomorrow.

It’s okay if you skip a day or two! Write whenever you feel like it. You can keep it secret if you want.

Write about your feelings! Whether you are tired, happy, or inspired, and what made you feel that way.

Journaling before bed helps you unwind and can lead to a better night’s sleep.

It allows you to understand and manage your feelings, find ways to solve problems, and builds your confidence. Also, it gives you a chance to practise your writing skills.

If you feel comfortable, you can share your journal with your family. They can help check your spelling and chat about what you’ve written.

Studies have shown that regular gratitude journalling can lead to:

  1. Increased happiness
  2. Reduced stress and anxiety
  3. Enhanced sleep quality
  4. Stronger social relationships (friendships)
  5. Improved physical health1

Small changes CAN make a big difference – that’s what The 1% Kids’ Club is all about.
