Get Sunlight During the Day
Soak in some sun!
Sunlight exposure during the day is important for your body’s sleep cycle and energy levels.
Spend some time outside every day, even if it doesn’t look sunny there are lots of benefits that come from being outdoors!
Take your daily activities outside, like playing with your friends or eating your snacks/ dinner.
Spending time in the sun is great for you! The UV from sunlight, helps your body make vitamin D, which keeps your bones strong and healthy.1
Plus, being outside can boost your mood and give you more energy. Just remember to wear sunscreen to protect your skin.
The light you see during the day helps your body know when it’s time to go to bed and when to wake up. Getting enough sunlight has many benefits, including better mood, behaviour, test scores in school, focus, concentration, sleep and more energy!2 Plus, it supports eye health.3 Wow…. sunlight does a lot of good!
Be careful!
Too much sunlight exposure can cause sunburn, so make sure to wear suncream. This will help look after your skin and reduce risks of skin damage.
Small changes CAN make a big difference – that’s what the 1% Kids’ Club is all about.
- Encourage your children to play outside instead of staying indoors to enjoy the benefits of fresh air and sunshine.
- Make sure they apply sunscreen before going outside to protect their skin from the sun.
- Join other parents, and plan fun days out for the kids to play together!
