- In class, complete a short quiz with the children to find out how they learn best; each child will learn differently as they are all unique!
- Ensure that not every lesson follows the same pattern of learning; change it up with some pop-corn reading, copying information from the board and using Play-Doh to make objects related to the subject.

Learn Well
Did you know that everyone learns differently?
Some students like to take notes during class, while others prefer just listening. Some grasp concepts better with diagrams, while others might need a friend’s explanation to fully understand. This is totally normal! Since everyone’s brain works differently, it’s no surprise that we all process information in unique ways.

Back in 1987, a New Zealand teacher named Neil Fleming came up with something called the VARK model. It’s a cool way to figure out how people like to learn. Fleming said there are four main learning styles:
- Visual
Learners love seeing pictures, diagrams, and charts to help them understand things. - Auditory
Learners enjoy listening to others explain things or talking it out. - Reading/Writing
Learners prefer reading information or writing things down to help it stick. - Kinesthetic
Learners like to get hands-on, moving around and doing activities to learn best.
Try paying attention to what works best next time you’re learning something new.
Knowing how you learn means you can remember facts quicker and for longer.
It also makes learning easier and boosts your confidence!
A study in the UK, showed that once you know your learning style, you can see lots of benefits! Like:
- Improving your learning, to try and get better marks in class!
- Learning how your brain works and understanding yourself!
- Increasing your confidence as you no longer feel overwhelmed with schoolwork.1
Small changes CAN make a big difference – that’s what The 1% Kids’ Club is all about.
