Sitting on the Floor
Sitting on the floor helps improve flexibility, strength, and balance.
Believe it or not, It encourages better posture by making you sit up straight and strengthens your core muscles.
Instead of sitting on the sofa or a chair while reading or watching TV, find a comfy spot on the floor with a cushion or blanket. It’s a great way to enjoy your favourite shows or books while stretching and relaxing your muscles. You can kneel, sit cross-legged, or check this video out for inspiration:

Research shows sitting on the floor promotes better balance, posture and muscle strength. With evidence showing that sitting on the floor with folded legs can place the least stress on the body.1 Try watching the TV next time from the floor!

When sitting on the floor, try to keep your back straight – as if you had a string pulling you from above! Move around, and switch up the positions of your sitting. Be comfortable and practise regularly to increase flexibility and reduce muscle aches.2
- When resting inside on the floor or outside on the grass, you could create a cool den with blankets and pillows, providing a creative space for them to relax.
